Summary

Nicos has been working in the industry having accumulated 30 years’ experience in various positions and organisations as an electronic engineer, an automation engineer, and as an Industry Officer in the Innovation Sector.

His experience includes working at the Dhekelia power plant to maintain and repair all electronic control systems and automation systems, as an electronic engineer. During his employment he designed and developed control systems to replace old control systems. He also worked in the first electronics industry in Cyprus AIAS, as a quality manager, and in the industry in general as a consultant for the development of electronic systems such as Laser Control, Automatic Irrigation and Automatic 3-Axis Machines. He developed and taught a series of courses for digital motor controllers (AC Drive) at the Cyprus Productivity Centre.

He has also worked, for 11 years, at the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, where he developed and implemented the first two Subsidy Schemes promoting the production of innovative products in Cyprus. The Programmes helped existing businesses create or develop research centres, and supported the development of innovative startup enterprises.

Since 2023 he began his own startup business for the development of automatic control systems, based on the Arduino Open Platform, and at the same time provides business consulting on innovation and smart systems.
